We believe that the success of your college experience shouldn’t depend on your access to resources. As a nonprofit created by first-generation students for first-generation students, we get it. The process can be daunting, confusing, and you might feel like nobody else understands how you feel. We’re here to help.

First-Gen Place is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that creates a virtual, safe space for first-generation students like you. Our goal is to help you through any challenges you might face because of your first-generation status: particularly, applying to college, working towards a degree, and looking for your first job.

Founded in 2022 by a group of students at the College of William & Mary, First-Gen Place is just that — a welcoming safe place for first-gen students to come together and embrace the challenge of higher education, together.
